No, not your taste but your approach. You're 'giddilly excited' about certain things, and dismissive of others. Upon viewing a film and enjoying it, you have trouble containing your excitement and i believe you then engage in buying any affordable memorabilia (in this case, multiple dvds for the same movie) or make your complete disappointment known to the other world.

I get the feeling that people around you do not know how much you enjoy the film medium and I also believe that you wish to keep it that way. You're not neccessarily into sharing that experience with people (however, you do like the idea of watching movies with people) but then beyond the formalities, wish to keep your comments to yourself mainly because you do not feel there is any reason to tell anyone anything.

Your film experience was your own and you're more than happy with that.

You look to find this artistic beauty in films that is meant to be found only by those who want to feel happy that they found it and no other reason. Its a pretentious taste in my book and then, would proceed to share it in a similar manner.

While you do enjoy the film medium, you enjoy even more, telling people what you saw and how you saw it and then, hope that people will think that you are an artistic moviegoer. That may be detrimental in the long run because i doubt you're watching the films for the purposes that you had set out for.

Film Ranking: Conceptual

Your impression of the movie is determined more by the themes and concepts, as well as the premise of the film than how the movie manages to execute them. Once again, like I've pointed out for a few people here, you're not really watching the movie but trying to elevate yourself to a higher status than others due to your realization that you indeed, found something in the film, that others didn't.

i agree and disagree. I look just as much into the execution than i do the themes and concepts. I've looked at my posts in the Review forum and there seems to be a mix of both. Also, a majority of my reviews are a sentence long, there's not a long to go on.

Where can I see this "Little Giddy High School Girl" movie? :|

Oh... that's my ranking! Yes... I guess I could just go back and delete that first part...

Yes indeed...

Film Ranking: Genuine Film Lover

You have the knowledge, you have the interest, you follow it up with actually watching your films and then follow that up with discussion. It is beyond a hobby for you and given the chance, I personally feel you would try to be a part of it.

However, as a person who firmly believes that foreign language films should be seen subtitled instead of dubbed, I honestly do not know your opinion on most films when they first come out because you've seen them in German

Actually, best way is to see the films in their original language (which for English, German and Russian films is not a problem). Subtitles are distracting to be honest.

But your analysis...sounds quite right : )

I'm a film major, so I can't help but look for the artistic value in the movies I see ;)

aha that makes more sense.

well, its not my position to give advice but i think you should start focussing ... not more .. but should also pay attention to the 'entertainment' value of films. Films don't neccessarily have to be Picasso. Once in a while, a 5 minute badly made up photoshop is just as creative :)

Film Ranking: Sound of Mind

You're not too harsh. You're not too Eager. You're well aware of your own mental state when you are walking into a movie. While you have bias', you are aware of them and try to negate them. Thats suppose to be positive but concentrate more on the movie instead of your own self. its like having sex. enjoy the sex, not how well you are performing.

Meaning I don't really understand your criteria on anything. I find you difficult to predict. I find there to be absolutely no consistency to you which would imply that your love, hate, are indifferent, like or dislike really depends mostly on your mood, intoxication level and if the film will be successful in convincing your lady chick or Mr. Bigalow to go down on you afterwards. Which is preferred is best left upto the imagination (or rather not).

Hey! Just because you can't pin me down into one of your little stereotyped categories doesn't mean my tastes must be entirely dependent on mood or intoxication.

I like to think I have "eclectic" movie tastes.

not expecting you to be a stereotype. i personally feel that you can watch the same movie twice and walk out with a different opinion each time.
