 Re: Hey, Dutch people!
The one city I still need to visit of the entire Benelux is Antwerp. Otherwise I have been to Brussels, Luxembourg, Ghent, Bruges and Liège before.

 Re: Hey, Dutch people!
I would be meaner to you stuffp, but my best friend is from Maastricht so I can't hate on Limburg. At least from my experience you guys are better at ditching your accents unlike the people from Brabant who are just chronically inept when it comes to rasping their G's properly. Dr. Lecter wrote: The one city I still need to visit of the entire Benelux is Antwerp. Otherwise I have been to Brussels, Luxembourg, Ghent, Bruges and Liège before. Really? I mean, if you count cities like Delft, Maastricht, Ghent, Bruges and Liège as "city" enough for you then you're still missing a whole lot of them. Haarlem, Groningen, Den Bosch, Eindhoven, Nijmegen, Arnhem, Gouda, Leiden and Breda are just a couple of cities with long and rich history and culture. Several of them (Eindhoven and Nijmegen especially) aren't even that far from Bonn.

the lesser evil wrote: I'm not sure what you'd consider movie related places. Like, there's not really anything like Hollywood over here. I guess Amsterdam would count as movie-related because there's been plenty of films that took place there - including somewhat recently what I'm sure is a big Algren favourite, The Fault in our Stars. I just meant well-known places that have been used in films. It's one of those things I like to do whenever I go somewhere. In Sydney, it was Bare Island ( M:I-2). In Thailand, it was Chiang Mai ( Rambo). I like visiting locations of films I like. But there's also the other side, in the celebration and commercialisation of film, such as the various walks of fame. Obviously Hollywood has one (which I haven't been to), but Hong Kong also has one (with hand prints, not stars) and Vegas also has one.

You're in luck, Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo had a lot of it filmed in Amsterdam. You'd recognise a lot from that.

 Re: Hey, Dutch people!
Speaking of Limburg - I am there pretty often actually since I am going to movie theatres in Kerkrade or in Heerlen at least every other month. Heerlen is pretty nice.

I was gonna ask if Belgium wouldn't be closer to where you live, but I'm pretty sure that's the French part and who really wants to go there?

 Re: Hey, Dutch people!
Train-connection-wise Limburg is much more convenient to me than Belgium.

You'd probably go through Limburg to get to the Flemish part of it anyway; I assume the Walloon dub their stuff like the French do. So what's the biggest difference between the theatre experience in Holland versus Germany? You've indicated that you like it better, but I'm curious about the details of that.
