I just watch the other person let the person talk and say nothing. Then I say calm what this shit is about and if the person keeps comming I go and the person never sees or does hear from me again.
And I stick to it. No matter what.

I honestly don't remember the last time I was insulted in person, and in a serious manner.

Also, I am not sure any insults can actually truly hurt me.

As to the my answer here: it really, really depends on who said it and what was said.

I was not only the insult it was more the whole situation.

I volunteered from time to time for a project to help foreign people with study work. After my jaw surgery I was severly handicapped with eating. So they made some food and I tried to eat it but back then I wasnt able to eat it already.(today I maybe should not have tried to eat it but I was in a "try everything so you can eat as fast as normal again" mindset you know....practice practice practice. So then came an absolute insulting comment in their language towards my handicap(at that time).
I didnt understand it but I knew by the reaction of some of the people that it was ultra rude.
Dude next to me ( I had some talk with him before about his journeys he made ) got extremely angry at the insulting person. And he was also more introverted guy and cool in my eyes.
Insulting person keeps pushing with comments and some of the idiots join the person.

So if the person would have stopped after the first shoot I would have said "ok fuck it I take it"

But the facts that I

-helped those people already a lot before my surgery
-came back to help
-treated them always respectful even stuff happend I found strange
-and the fact I didnt do really something wrong as far I see it.
-and the persons keept pushing

made me go.

I'd probably go too, but I'd want to know from the person why he/she not only made that comment in the first place, but after being called out on it, still kept pushing it. I mean, why? Only because they thought it's amusing...?

yeah forgot to ad that when the first "wave" was over I calmly asked what this was about. But as answer only some more stupid laughter and pushing.

So yeah for me it was "not funny, too personal, overdone it, fuck you" time.

I'm so used to my twin brother insulting me, doesn't phase me anymore.

Let me tell you instead how I handle people who are mad at me (if I think there is no reason for them to be). As they get angrier and start shouting I simply look at them and smile. Which drives them insane. Always works.
