Post selling some filmmaking equipment
i'm selling some of my used equipment, so i said to myself: why not start a thread here at kj too? first thing that's up for sale is my Arri FF-3, maybe the finest follow focus ever developed. at least i prefer it to the popular FF-4.

the set comes with the right hand knob (which is also 2-speed) + extension, speed crank, 9 marking discs and also the case made by Arri. everything's in very good used condition.

asking 2500€

i would prefer shipping this to EU countries but would also consider shipping to countries like USA, canada, australia. no shipping to third world countries or to countries that are no democracies, like china or russia - sorry! shipping would be about 20€ to most EU countries and can be tracked online. local pickup in vienna/austria would be welcome too. if you're interested, send me a PM or write an email to Leopold_Ernst@hotmail.com

this unit was used for filming "das weiße band" and "amour" among others btw. thanks for looking.

I'll spread the word. I think I have a friend who absolutely loves Amour. He may want it just for that. Are you a cinematographer, AC, etc. very cool either way.

If you had a friend who said he had not seen Amour "yet," would you assume he planned to see Amour soon?

I wouldn't make that assumption. But it depends how he said it.

He loves the director in general. There's no doubt there. He's bought some weird memorabilia before. He actually has one of the prop Viggo paintings from Ghostbusters 2, but he does have scripts, props, some French director's camera that I can't remember his name off hand.. I'm not sure if a follow focus will really excite him though. Most people I know that would want one already have them.

don't hijack my thread, you assclowns.

here is another piece of gear i would sell, another German follow focus by Chrosziel, 15mm. i like using it for smaller setups. for the big monster lenses i preferred the Arri. if you own a DSLR you can't do better than the Chrosziel. it's in pristine condition with hardly any signs of use.

1250€. price for a new one would be around 2100€.

Seriously, though, the thread is a bit bizarre. ;) I am sure this equipment is great, but World of KJ is not the place to sell it.

That's true. Most people here aren't interested in films and filmmaking, but in numbers and commodities, such as fossil oil, rye and burlap.

I think David means that the likelihood of finding a buyer among KJ's dozen or so regular users is very slim, regardless of their interests. This thread is very interesting to see the equipment, but you'll have better luck selling it on eBay or a forum dedicated to second-hand film-making equipment.

Right. It is cool to see the equipment, of course, but do not expect there to be this secret focus-pulling member of the forum ready to drop thousands on equipment. It would be more interesting to hear anecdotes related to the equipment and its use on those Haneke shoots than where it can or cannot be shipped or what the price is.

I couldn't disagree more, if someone on here had the right piece of equipment, editing software. I'd jump at the opportunity, if the price is right. And those prices aren't bad at all. Dave, Algren. You realize some threads can participate without your involvement. There are hundreds of members who choose to never post on here. Some of them could be interested.

Anyway, I called my friend. Waiting to hear back. Will pm you if I he's interested. Do you mind if I ask why you're getting rid of them?
