Anyone else here who appreciates a good single malt? And please none of that bourbon bullshit.

 Re: Whisky
While not a true bourbon, I always preferred Jack Daniel's. I guess I tried a few single malts on our trip to Scotland, but didn't really see the attraction. Then again, I don't really like whiskey in general.

 Re: Whisky
Prostl Lecter!
I'm a big whiskey fan. It's my drink of choice outside of beer with a meal or in summer.
Favourite single malt is probably Glenfiddich. Also like Glenlivet and Dalwhinnie.
Blended and I'm happy with Chivas Regal, Johnny Green, Black or Double Black (though Green is hard to find now).
And has to be on the rocks. Bourbon is disgusting.

 Re: Whisky
My man! And whisky, guys, whisky! However, putting good whisky on the rocks kinda kills it Maybe a few drops of water (ideally the one it was distilled with), but I drink mine straight. I prefer the very smoky ones, like Laphoraig. Drinking Bowmore 12yrs right now.

 Re: Whisky
ah shit I cant spell!
I do have it straight from time to time if its good stuff. Though prefer a couple of ice cubes.
Bowmore is good but yes very smoky. I haven't tried Laphoraig though.
Do you like Cognac? This I drink straight.

 Re: Whisky
Cognac on very very rare occasions. Not that many cognacs I like, though I haven't explored that world much. Same with rum. Bowmore is actually on the low end of my personal preferred smokiness, I like it much smokier even, the kind, that you taste the next morning, even though you had a lot of other stuff to eat and to drink inbetween.

 Re: Whisky
Whiskey is an honest liquor. I've always liked that about it. I love vodka, but it's a creeper, and sometimes you don't know you're drunk until it's too late.
