 Re: Ebola
Probably. There are a lot of underpasses in western Africa.

 Re: Ebola
This is really getting blown out of proportion just like SARS and any new Influenza strain outbreak, specially by the stupid media. I wouldnt be surprise if the enterovirus outbreak in the US gets overblown as well.

 Re: Ebola
CLEbola!!!!!
As a resident, I'm not in the least bit afraid of the contracting the virus myself. However, I do worry for the stupid people who will panic over this, keeping the fear-mongering local news stations on 24/7.
However, the handling of this has been embarrassing, at least the portrait we have been given, and a complete contrast to the "Ebola is no big deal" stories we were getting two weeks ago.

 Re: Ebola
I mean... it's still not a big deal here in the US. It's at, what, 3? people? Over the course of 2+ weeks? That's pretty good.

 Re: Ebola
There are many unknowns that are causing the panic. It's a deadly disease with no known cure. Animal-to-human transmission could be possible but the impact is yet to be seen.

 Re: Ebola
Ebola is a very well studied infection, its not like its a brand new disease. Its just another outbreak like any other disease. The only problem is that those African countries dont have the proper infrastructure to fight the spread of the infection. Yes, theres no cure but you only need early supportive care, rehydration and symptomatic treatment to significantly reduce the risk of death. Early detection is the main problem here.

 Re: Ebola
I believe that's due to those women being idiots.

The CDC said the quarantine procedures would work and they don't. 1 of the women is in very good shape and will probably recover. The other woman is at Emory the best hospital for treating diseases like this. Really the Dallas hospital just screwed up.
