But the quarter final game does. Winning the group would mean going into Brazil/France half of the draw instead of Croatia. Which side is more difficult at this time is a matter of opinion, but I know which side I'd rather face. So anyway, they're through the group stages and have Colombia to play on 6th July ... which is Stallone's birthday.

What a great match. I actually changed just before kick-off and wanted France to win, and they did. Never have I rooted so hard for fucking France. But Argentina are a bunch of cheating cunts. Fuck Messi and his stupid country. So glad France won. Mbappe is excellent.

Jesus, what a boring Spain-Russia match. But so very pleased that Spain lost. Did they deserve to? Probably not. They played better (though boring as fuck) football. But they missed two in the shootout, and that's unacceptable at this level. They are also incredibly arrogant, especially Sergio Ramos. Saying he is full of himself doesn't quite explain just how cocky he is. Russia, on the other hand, are a deeply generic side. Not one outstanding player among them all. They should consider themselves very lucky to have not lost against Spain and now be through to the quarter finals.

I'm glad Russia, as the underdog, won against a Spain side I totally didn't care for either.

Poor old Japan. I mean, I kind of knew they wouldn't win but they came so close.

Fucking hate Brazil. Cheating cunt Neymar is quite possibly the worst "star" Brazil has ever had. He is no Ronaldo or Ronaldinho or Pele or even Rivaldo. Will be rooting for Sweden and England tonight. If that pans out, they will play each other in the quarter finals.

Switzerland are 8th in the world for a reason, so I am not ruling them out. Same for Colombia. England are prone to bottling it, and Colombia are not incapable of giving them a run for their money. But still think it should be Sweden and England as victors.
