Boy, this game was a nail biter.
Frieri is a beast in the closer role. He is K-rod 2.0.

Re: 2012 Major League Baseball Discussion
No sweep, but at least we won both series against two hard teams. At least I am not a Detroit fan today, cause I would be embarrassed to lose to Phil Hughes with JV on the mound.

Re: 2012 Major League Baseball Discussion
God Bard will not be a starter much longer. He went from like a record amount of scoreless innings last year to being unbearably lit up. I have no idea why they messed up such a good thing. Either way, took the series. Here's hoping we can keep it up.

Re: 2012 Major League Baseball Discussion
Congrats to Matt Cain for the perfect game.
As for the Freeway Series, talk about a nail biter in the 9th. Freieri has escaped even the most impossible jams this year, and his one was his biggest one yet. We were lucky to take a series at Dodger stadium.

The 13 games they play in the 2nd half are going to be HUGE. Indeed, for the Angels, the offense is picking up the slack now (despite two shaky starts from Haren, the offense bailed his ass). Looks like the team we saw in Spring Training. Either team is pretty much ensured a wild card spot at this point.

7 Rangers and 4 Angels (possibly a 5th). The West is ruling the All Star Game this time.

Re: 2012 Major League Baseball Discussion
400 home runs for Papi! Right now I think 500 will be a stretch. I don't see him being a Bonds staying in the game til 43. I think 4 seasons left at most. If he can get to 415 this year, I think he definitely has a chance, but it's all on him.

I remember them always having the weakest of offenses, and now they are one of the best. Could be this years version of the 2008 Rays.

Re: 2012 Major League Baseball Discussion
These are my updated Season Awards predictions
AL MVP- Josh Hamilton NL MVP- David Wright
AL Cy Young- Justin Verlander NL Cy Young- R.A. Dickey
AL MOY- Robin Ventura NL MOY- this is a tough one but I predict Terry Collins wins this over Clint Hurdle
AL ROY- Mike Trout NL ROY- Bryce Harper
AL comeback player of year- Adam Dunn NL Comeback player of year- either Johan Santana or Buster Posey
does anybody agree or disagree with me?

Only half a game separates 5 teams for the AL Wild Card. Looks like the 2nd Wildcard is causing excitement for everyone here.

Good series win against the Rangers. Congrats to Mike Trout for breaking the rookie record for most consecutive games with a run.

Re: 2012 Major League Baseball Discussion
Wow, Morales becomes only the 3rd player in history to hit two HR's in the same inning from both sides of the plate. Nice statement game for my Halos today.

Has there ever been two perfect games in the same ballpark in one season?

Re: 2012 Major League Baseball Discussion
Wow, what a game at Fenway. Great sweep of the Sox by my Halos. The biggest roller coaster game of the year, not just for the Angels, but of all the games this year.
