You'd really rather play the defending champs than have home-ice advantage?

Boston comes off to me a classic example of the year after team who's heart isn't that in it and loses early in the playoffs

I think Washington is Ottawa in the year after their Finals year where they collapses and played like balls all year, got the 8th seed and got some sleeper hype, and then Pittsburgh took a massive dump on their face. I could see NYR killing them. Sorry to any Rangers fans in advance for saying that, I think I just made Washington beating them in 5 games happen

Looks like you're gonna get your wish, Magnus. Ottawa lost, Caps up 4-1 on the Rangers late, and Florida up 3-0 after two.

Like my brother (die-hard Caps fan) said: they did nothing when they had home ice advantages the last few years. Can't get any worse than getting eliminated by the Canadiens two years ago after placing 1st in the East.

Well... they could be swept in four games. Still not as humiliating as getting bumped out by 8th-seeded Habs.

Nervous about the Flyers. They could really rattle the Pens.

Glad Detroit stayed away from Phoenix. They have one of the hottest goalies in the league right now.

What on there doesn't make sense? FL over NJ? That's really the only "out there" one.

East

1. Rangers vs. 8. Senators - Rangers in 5
2. Bruins vs. 7. Capitals - Bruins in 6
3. Panthers vs. 6. Devils - Devils in 6
4. Penguins vs. 5. Flyers - Penguins in 7

- Rangers are just the better team.
- Capitals are on their third-string goalie.
- Who gives a shit?
- Best series in the playoffs. Could go either way. Penguins have too much firepower though.

West

1. Canucks vs. 8. Kings - Canucks in 6
2. Blues vs. 7. Sharks - Blues in 4
3. Coyotes vs. 6. Blackhawks - Coyotes in 7
4. Predators vs. 5. Red Wings - Predators in 7

- The Kings are better than their eighth seed, but they're not as good as the Canucks.
- Biggest mismatch in the playoffs. Then again the Sharks don't have any pressure on them to do well so maybe they'll actually be able to do something. Probably not though.
- Meh.
- Just like in the East it could go either way, but for some reason I like the Predators to make a little run this year. Now watch them get ousted in five.

If the Wings win this game, that 5 on 3 the Preds just had will have been the turning point. Jimmy Howard stellar so far.

I don't think anyone got what they wanted last night. Unless you're a Nashville or Kings fan. And honestly, who is?

in other news, Edmonton will have their THIRD straight #1 pick. And like the past two years, will do nothing with it.

Fun fact: since the lockout, the Oilers have won more playoff series than the Capitals.
