Well we can't have all the championships. It wouldn't be much fun for anyone (except us of course).

For all the championships you have, you have dozens of more glorious choking moments that the rest of the country enjoys to watch.

Well yeah. That's what happens when you play in all the championship games.

:funny: :funny: - Don't fuck with me Magnus!

I'm actually not too bummed out (surprisingly). If Bergeron hadn't played I think I would be fuming right now, but everyone on both sides played. Both teams gave it their all, and all it took was one bouncer off the post. Bounces sometimes go your way (Jagr off the post in Game 1 in OT) and sometimes they don't. That's hockey.

The shitty part about all this though is that thanks to the lockout training camp will start early in September, they'll play a full season, and they have to deal with the Olympics. I kind of hate to say it, but I kind of hope that either the organization bars the players from playing (which would be unfair), or I root for all of their teams to lose early. They're going to be run ragged. Same goes for the Blackhawks as well, but they'll have an easier time getting over it cause they can just hug the cup.

probably cause you won just two years ago.

And it turns out that Patrice Bergeron was playing with a broken rib AND a separated shoulder. Never would've noticed by how he played tonight. He might be the most underrated (maybe, maybe not after two cup appearances) and most valuable player in the league.

They're doing some big parade party thing downtown tomorrow night to celebrate the victory, but unfortunately I'm leaving Chicago tomorrow morning. Lame!

Never commented, but: Toronto fans must have loved that last minute and twenty seconds.

Bruins trade Segiun, Peverley, and Ryan Button to the Stars for Loui Eriksson, Reilly Smith, Matt Fraser, and Joe Morrow.

Gotta admit, I'm surprised they actually pulled the trigger. Chiarelli must have really not been a fan of what Seguin was doing in his downtime, even more-so than he was leading on the other day when he pretty much called Seguin out as being unprofessional. I thought he was just trying to light a fire under his ass.

This has the face of the type of trades the Bruins used to make when they would send guys out of town and they would immediately become stars on the other team (Joe Thornton, though that one turned out okay). On the bright side though, he goes to a Stars team that's pretty much at the bottom of the barrel of the Western Conference. If he does explode in Dallas, it pretty much won't impact the Bruins directly in one way or another.

Also on the bright side, the Bruins are getting an All-Star winger who has pretty much played in every game for the Stars since 2008-2009, and has averaged close to 30 goals each year (12 in 48 last year) on a team that's been mediocre at best. They're also clearing up cap space by moving Seguin and Peverley so they clearly want to sure up Rask and Bergeron and possibly make a splash in free agency. And they get three decent prospects (Morrow).

I think it's a good deal for both teams, with a lot of potential upside for the Stars, and quite a bit of potential for the Bruins depending on who they decide to go after.

Alfredsson to the Red Wings, and after everything that happened, Iginla to the Bruins.

He'll bring some vet leadership to the back end of the lines for the Wings. Not a bad move.

We've got a blockbuster! The Blues and Sabres made a trade.

Blues get: Ryan Miller and Steve Ott
Sabres get: Jaroslav Halak, Chris Stewart, William Carrier, and two draft picks

The Red Wings are better off losing after 2 periods than trying to hold a lead in the 3rd. It's impossible.

Still in shock over the West seedings after STL collapse. I think Anaheim and Colorado are like... the 5th and 7th most dangerous contenders in the conference. Colorado 2 seed especially is soooo wrong lol (of course now that I say that they'll go the Finals)

West

1 Anaheim over WC2 Dallas in 7 games
2 San Jose over 3 Los Angeles in 7 games

2 San Jose over 1 Anaheim in 6 games

WC1 Minnesota over 1 Colorado in 6 games
2 St Louis over 3 Chicago in 6 games

WC1 Minnesota over 2 St. Louis in 6 games

Conference Finals:

2 San Jose over WC1 Minnesota in 5 games

East

1 Boston over WC2 Detroit in 4 games
3 Montreal over 2 Tampa Bay in 6 games

1 Boston over 3 Montreal in 5 games

1 Pittsburgh over WC1 Columbus in 6 games
2 New York Rangers over 3 Philadelphia in 6 games

2 New York Rangers over 1 Pittsburgh in 6 games

Conference Finals:

1 Boston over 2 New York Rangers in 6 games

Finals:

1 Boston over 2 San Jose in 6 games

SAN JOSE FINALLY MAKES THE FINALS!... and kick their fans in the balls there. lol

The new seedings system is great for rivalries but they need to explore a way to make it less confusing. Something like naming each of the 4 "brackets" like the NCAA tournament does (maybe use Orr, Gretzky, etc. brackets). Or just reseed it after the first round according to record. I would've had no idea about 2 and 3s automatically getting their division's #1 (or the wild card team that beat them) in the 2nd round, if not for reading it late last night. The bright side of that is the 2nd round should be pretty great most years with matchups like BOS-MTL or PIT-PHI on the regular
