Russia and the CIS: February 3-6, Results

On February 3, five films of different genres started. However, overall business continues to remain in area of $10-11M, losing to last year's indicators.

James Cameron's Sanctum 3D occupied the first line of domestic box-office with $3,26M. This is the widest release (1002 screens) for Top Film Distribution.  But per-theater average is rather low. It was twice above for Piranha 3D half a year back.

The comedy action The Green Hornet 3D got $3,19M (728 screens). This result is on the same level of such movies as R.E.D ($3,23M, 608 screens) and Knight & Day ($3,32M, 949 screens).

The Russian openers were unclaimed viewers because of a high competition. Active advertizing on TV hasn't helped also. Resort comedy Na kryuchke! and the youth melodrama You and I opened with total circulation of 1000 screens, but the boxoffice exceeded $ 1 million barely.  At second case result didn't pay back even the copies cost.

Mechanic with Jason Statham has fallen 64% to $1,55M. It's better than Crank: High Voltage (-67 %) and Legion (-71 %), but it’s worse than Transporter 3 (-55 %).

Burlesque and Love and Other Drugs in the second week-end have exchanged in places.

The fall of The Best Movie 3 has reached 88,9% (overcoming the mark of $10M now in question).
