The animated blockbuster from studio DreamWorks Kung Fu Panda 2 launched on 1337 screens, which have brought:
1) for Wednesday - $1.40M
2) for Thursday - $1.93M
3) for the 4-day weekend - $13.52M
4) for the first five days - $14.92M

Cartoon slowly began on weekdays. But the main stream of visitors hit the theaters directly on the weekends. The audience, incidentally, increased by 29% compared with the first part from 1.4 to 1.8 mln. for the first weekend. Box-office takings have doubled.

Kung Fu Panda 2 had the strong support: such as the beginning of summer vacation for school children and the impact advertising campaign, which is not inferior to the fourth part of the Pirates. As a result, it is the tenth best start in Russia among all the films and the fourth highest among animation (after Shrek 4, Ice Age 3 and Magadaskar 2).

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides in its second weekend lost 60%, adding $10.53 M. This decline was strongest among the series of the franchise, but it is quite acceptable for such big release. Now the fourth part, earning $49.78 M, was included in the four highest-grossing films of Russian box office. The second honorable place, after Avatar is not far off.

The melodramatic thriller The Ledge (domestic title - "Passion Play") with Liv Tyler in the title role, went on 200 screens and took $0.34M.
