Russia and CIS: Prediction on April 28 - May 1 201

Two present summer blockbusters come face to face: the racing series Fast Five and Marvel Comics Thor.

Previous part Fast & Furious came in early April 2009 and blew usually a quiet month its impressive agility, having earned $8.53M with 689 screens. The new film has an almost twofold superiority in the number of screens, incredibly entertaining trailer and spots on the federal channels. Everything is great with the cast, recently visited the premiere in Moscow. Succeeded to combine not only the heroes of the previous parts together, but also to attract as an antagonist charismatic Dwayne Johnson. Last weekend, the movie was launched in the UK, where he took more than the previous part in 22% ($8.81M), and in Australia, where he added 29% ($7.44M). A similar fate awaits him in Russia - about $12.28M. Especially after the first reviews, the fifth part is called the best in the entire series.

To resist the popular franchise ventured Scandinavian god Thor, who was thrown from the heavens to admire the mere mortals. But how many hammer not wave, it fails catch up the team Vin Diesel. Of course, the distributor releases movie is not without support: solidly invested in advertising, ensured solid number of screens (1013). The main targets: Iron Man (2008, $4.23M, 608 screens) and X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009, $3.74M, 774 screen), which came in the same weekends. Competition from the Fast Five, working on almost the same audience will not go into the gap from these projects.
