After a soft winter and spring movie seasons, It looks like Summer Movie Season starting a week early this year with Fast Five opening this strongly this weekly, it looks to have an opening weekend almost double Rio's opening of 39.2M which is the highest opening weekend so far this year. Fast Five should open to around 75.8M this weekend. Second will go to Rio with another fairly good hold in it's 3rd week at around 15.8M. Third place looks go to Water For Elephants with fairly strong week day numbers, should have the best hold this week in the top 10 , coming in aroung 11.7M this week. Coming in at 4th & 5th places are the other 2 major openers Prom and Hoodwinked 2 both coming in around 8.6M. Next in 6th place is Madea's Big Happy Family at 8.4M, a drop well over 60% as most Tyler Perry's  drop strongly in their second week. With easter over look for HOP in 7th place dropping a strong 63% to come in at 4.5M. In 8th will be Soul Surfer with another good hold in it's 4th week coming in at 3.7M. In 9th is African Cats dropping 45% coming in at 3.3M. 10 through 14 look to be a close race between 5 movies this week. 10th is Hanna with 2.72M. 11th is Source Code with 2.68M, 12th is Insidious with 2.67M. Coming in at 13th is Scream 4 at 2.53M with another big drop this week,. And at 14 place looks to go to Dylan Dog: Dead of the Night with 2.51M opening in 862 theaters with projected PTA of 2912.

Heh, "The Turk Predicts..." Though I was never a huge fan of the franchise (the first one was decent), i hope Fast Five does well, even if it's only to jump start the summer BO like Turk mentioned.

With a 33.2 Friday Fast Five should have no problem hitting 75 million for the weekend. The crazy thing is that will be the highest opening ever for the last weekend of April.
