The romantic comedy Just Go with It started in Russia perfectly - the first place, and $4.41M. This was the biggest achievement in Russia, for Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston. This success is explained by the fact that the film was able assemble not only the standard for romantic comedies female audience, but fans of "classic" American comedy with straightforward humor. Thus, Just Go with It boasts one of the best debut among foreign comedies.
"Rango" showed a minimal decrease in the top ten and retained the second place. Gore Verbinski’s film has already earned $9.32M.
"Sluzhebnyy roman. Nashe vremya" couldn’t resist onslaught of American counterparts in their genre and have lost 57%, dropping to third place. Reviews on this remake also didn't contributed to the high stability. After two weekends Russian romantic comedy earned for over $10M.
The fantastic comedy Paul released on 330 screens and took $1.33M. The result is of the category "it could be worse". The new Greg Mottola's movie exceeded Race to Witch Mountain ($0.89M, 226 screens) which came in the same weekend two years ago and was close to Tucker & Dale vs Evil ($1.38M, 270 screens)
The cartoon "Kukaracha 3D" debuted only in seventh place with $0.93M hardly beating the three-week Mars Needs Moms 3D. Russian three-dimensional animation can not yet boast a decent quality product. So, even school holidays do not help in box office advances.
The Russian-American action film "Klyuch Salamandry"on 453 screens scraped only $0.57M. Interest of the audience was minimal to this completely unpretentious and secondary project. Understanding this, the theaters were isolated seances for the film on the residual principle.
The historic action Ironclad locked the the top ten with the result $0.39M. The film was released on 231 screens without advertising support, and repeated last year, not too successful start of Centurion.
