Amy Adams is Lois Lane

Amy Adams will play Lois Lane in Superman Reboot.

While doing press for his current film, Sucker Punch, director Zack Snyder announced that Amy Adams will play the role of Lois Lane in his upcoming Superman reboot.

"Second only to Superman himself, the question of who will play Lois Lane is arguably what fans have been most curious about," said Snyder. "So we are excited to announce the casting of Amy Adams, one of the most versatile and respected actresses in films today. Amy has the talent to capture all of the qualities we love about Lois: smart, tough, funny, warm, ambitious and, of course, beautiful."

Snyder called Adams Sunday morning from Paris to tell her she had the part. Henry Cavill will play Superman, while Kevin Costner and Diane Lane play his adoptive parents.

The film is tentatively slated for a December 2012 release.

I'm Ron Burgundy. You stay classy, WoKJ.

I like the way this cast is rounding out. Adams is an outside the box pick for Lois Lane, but someone I think fits the part as it should be (though maybe not as it's been portrayed before).

Agreed. She kicked ass in The Fighter. I'm expecting another good performance.

Adams is one of the finest actresses working today, and probably my personal favorite. She was the only good part of the fighter and will likely be the only good part of this movie.

I would argue that Bale was as good if not better than Adams in The Fighter.

Well, I figure it can't be any worse than the last Superman rendition, but Sucker Punch sounds like a real blow to Snyder's credibility

Snyder is great with heavy CGI action based movies but I think he'll need to work on adding more character development and substance to make Superman a quality movie.
