This weekend our distributors are releasing a four major films of different genres.
The adventure animated film Rango is the widest project of this weekend. It will be released on 1015 screens. First and foremost, distributor "Central Partership" hopes for the upcoming school holidays. The other two original cartoon: Monsters vs. Aliens 3D and How to Train Your Dragon 3D could take on the same weekend an impressive $5,70M and $7,29M respectively. Rango is more specific for the Russian audience. But the good advertising campaigns and the successful launch date, even without 3D will bring it around $5,57M.
The ambitious Russian romantic comedy "Sluzhebnyy roman. Nashe vremya" (http://www.kino-n-sport.ru/repository/calendar/film/filmid/638) comes out at least a large scale. This is a remake of the Soviet hit by Eldar Ryazanov and it will appear on 900 screens. The film's budget is $5M. Again, considerable resources spent on promotion. Of cjource, the film raises a lot of criticism and dispute, but ordinary viewers probably can not miss it. The star comedy will fight for first place in the weekend with the result about $5,40.
One more appreciable novelty will be the action-thriller Limitless with Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro. The bright and fairly original project designed on the youth audience is coming on solid 650 screens. Limitless can be compared to such films as Crank, Gamer and Law Abiding Citizen. We look forward to $1,92M.
Red Riding Hood starts on 480 screens. Arbitrary presentation by Charles Perrault tale from director Catherine Hardwicke will attract romantically minded young women comprising audience of the Twilight Saga. As an analogue of the cash potential, we can take The Vampire's Assistant ($1,47M on 297 screens), The Wolfman ($0,91M on 420 screens) and Twilight ($0,93M on 256 screens). We are waiting about $1,01M from movie with Amanda Sayfred.
