This weekend a six films start more than 200 screens. Most of them came February 23 on Day of the Fatherland's Defender.

The youth fantastic action I Am Number Four will be a serious competitor for Timur Bekmambetov's project. The film are released on 700 screens. This genre is always enjoyed considerable success in Russia so it will surpass a previous work of D. J. Caruso - Eagle Eye ($2,07M on 436 screens). At best, it can reach Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief ($3,35M on 811 screens) and Jumper ($3,70M on 422 screens).
Crime comedy Big Mommas with Martin Lawrence can be seen on 420 screens. The domestic audience is favorable to such films. Previous part of the trilogy earned $1,6M in 2006. We assume that the new film will get $1M after first weekend.
An Australian hit Tomorrow, When the War Began goes in Russia under the title "Invasion: The Battle for Paradise". This film about a group of teenagers who have to confront the enemy invaders, are released wide on 615 screens. But the distributor didn't invest in the marketing company . The localized poster and the title looks unsuccessful. It will be hard to attract many people.
Russian action with The Brothers Chadov "Slove. Pryamo v serdtse" begins on 480 screens ( $7M budget) (http://kino-n-sport.ru/repository/calendar/film/filmid/724). But a faith in Russian action movies lost long ago. The producers can only dream about the payback of such projects. Our prediction is $0,68M.
The Fighter (230 screens) and The King's Speech (200 screens) will be shown in theaters on this week-end also. Like the other contenders for the Oscar, the films will not earn much in Russia. We wait $0,51M and $0,46M respectively.
