Russia and CIS: February 10-13, Actuals

Our distributors released 6 nationwide openers. But the boxoffice of Top Ten movies became the worst this year - $10,4M

Sanctum 3D lost only 39 % and saved the first place.

Second place went to a historical action The Eagle. Fights, pursuits and young attractive actors brought $1,89M. It's a little above, than result of The Last Legion four years ago ($1,69M on 374 screens).

Oscar nominees went different ways. Black Swan debuted with $1,33M ($1,73M with a week preview) on 329 screens. This is the best per-theater average for week-end.  Thanks to attention of female audience and the correct advertizing.

True Grit had $0,60M only and finished on the eighth position, that almost twice below our prediction. The youth doesn't want to watch westerns and advancement among the older generation (TV, magazines) was absent. As a result, audience was less than 3:10 to Yuma (2007).

The criminal drama London Boulevard started from fifth position with solid $0,79M on 219 screens. Per-theater average was higher than in native UK.

Russian thriller "Mantikora 3D" opened to $0,75M. Russian viewers love cars and 3D and this passions rescued the film from a total failure. But reviews are really awful.

The romantic melodrama How Do You Know? landed on the seventh place with $0,74M. Even pre-holiday weekend didn’t bring any tangible dividends.

The Mechanic has now earned $7,97M, while The Green Hornet 3D  - $5,45M.
